Business analyst intern 

Arthur D. Little offers internships in London for students approaching graduation, as well as for recent graduates. Business Analyst Interns typically join Arthur D. Little for a 4-6 month period. During their internships, Business Analyst Interns are active members of project teams and often execute similar responsibilities to full-time junior members of staff.

As an Intern at Arthur D. Little, you will:

  • Use strong quantitative and analytical abilities to integrate and assess data
  • Develop customized analysis tools
  • Synthesize analytical results to provide action-oriented recommendations
  • Work with clients and team members to develop and implement innovative solutions
  • Take initiative in both client engagements and internal projects
  • Communicate results and discuss issues with project teams and, on occasion, clients
  • Gain immediate responsibility for project deliverables

The role requires a high level of creative thinking and problem solving, combined with strong quantitative, interpersonal and team-working skills. Occasional travel may be required.

Required Profile 

Business Analyst Interns are outstanding students in their final year of studies, who are approaching graduation, or who have recently graduated from a leading school or university. Their academic records should demonstrate significant analytical or quantitative experience, typically from a numerate discipline (e.g., mathematics, science, economics, business, and engineering). Arthur D. Little is looking for highly analytical, credible and charismatic candidates with strong presentation skills and a professional demeanor. Ideal candidates will have previous relevant experience – either through an internship or otherwise – in an analytical/research role in which they will have successfully applied their knowledge and skills.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.  Fluency in English is required; additional language skills are desirable.  The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter and a strong team player.

Digital Business Analyst Intern

We are keen to hear from students and graduates who are interested in addressing intractable business problems and realizing market-disruptive opportunities through digital innovation and challenging conventional wisdom. 
Digital Business Analyst Interns typically join Arthur D. Little for a 4-6 month period. During their internships, Digital Business Analyst Interns are active members of project teams and often execute similar responsibilities to full-time junior members of staff.
As an Intern at Arthur D. Little, you will:

  • Use problem-solving skills to understand complex business situations and contribute to “art of the possible” answers
  • Use strong analytical abilities
  • Synthesize analytical results to provide action-oriented recommendations
  • Work with clients and team members to develop and implement innovative digital solutions
  • Take initiative in both client engagements and internal projects
  • Communicate results and discuss issues with project teams and clients
  • Gain immediate responsibility for project deliverables
  • Work “more start-up than corporate” by using digital disruption techniques, including problem-solving and agile business creation and transformation

The role requires a high level of creative thinking and problem solving and an open mind to challenge pre-conceived views, combined with strong quantitative, interpersonal and team-working skills. An academic in one or more of the following is desirable, though not essential: computer science, digital software engineering, digital marketing, customer experience, mathematics, web science, complexity science and systems thinking. Occasional travel may be required.

Operations Management - Manager

General Background
Most likely has a combination of industry and consulting background. Should have at least 5 years in consulting. Could well come from a Big 4 background, or any consultancy where he/she has gained substantive delivery experience, as well as business development experience, showing good potential to build this.
Someone ambitious, looking to progress their career through both leading OM casework and taking a leading role in business development.
Able to contribute to ADL through leading case delivery, competency development and client-relationship building.
Probably at experienced Manager (at least 1-2 years at this level) or Principal level equivalent in ADL.
Proven competence in OM and/or sector fields through some thought leadership, white-paper authoring, method development, etc.
Delivery experience
Experience in Operations Management consulting across a suitable combination of our core OM service offers, which can include:

  • Corporate performance improvement
  • Supply chain management
  • Asset and maintenance management
  • Procurement & sourcing
  • Production & logistics
  • Operations excellence
  • Service and corporate functions improvement

Sector experience
Would ideally come from those sectors we are currently already best aligned to, which includes one of these main areas:

  • Energy industries – e.g., oil and gas (up or downstream), chemicals, utilities
  • Rail, air or other related transport industries
  • TIME/telecoms

We could also consider other process industries: food and drink, manufacturing, other relatively asset-intensive operations.
Consulting skills
Experience across the lifecycle of consulting engagements, from first-phase diagnostics through solution design and implementation planning and delivery.
Able to lead teams, and manage a case, working closely with a senior/partner on an engagement.
Strong team-working competence, good communicator.
Business development
Has already shown he/she can operate in a sell/deliver capacity, leveraging own position within a client engagement to generate ongoing revenues.
Shown strong interest and proactiveness with taking a leading role in developing new business through setting up, participating in, and following up sales meetings
Ideally brings at least some client contacts that could be leveraged.
Other
UK based, but experience in an international consulting business both useful and desirable.
Should have a strong combination of proven delivery skills, together with strong aptitude, high potential and interest in business development.
